Cut-outs BYPASS your cat(s) & muffler(s).

You do not need a high flow exhaust to being with either! I was just trying to stress that even with a high-flow exhaust, my friend STILL saw another 20HP gain even after he gained HP by doing a full exhaust upgrade!!! (which just shows how restrictive even a high flow exhaust can be!!) If you have headers you will see even MORE hp than you would with Manifolds..

I don't know what you mean by clips. I've only used Flowtech cutouts, they have a cap & wing-nuts. Gotta crawl under the car and unscrew them & remove the cap. For $35 bucks it's worth getting dirty to gain some extra ponies...or you can buy cut-outs with a cable (which will take time to moutn & route cables) or you can buy electric ones!

That would be worse blocking off flow to the muffler. By leaving them both open you have even more flow and less back pressure.

yeah, i guess so, but still the cats and all such are a bitch and i guess i just assumed that they would create more backpressure than a flap
