Used gears?

Is it even worth buying a set of used gears. I didn't really think about it but the guy who installs them say he think i will get noise from a used set. How many miles on a set of gears could be considered too much?Am i better off just spending the money on new gears?

New set shouldnt be too much more, but in my opinion itd be worth it. You never know if theres a defect in the used ones, a chip or possible crack. Thats what I think.

I might consider buying a used set of gears.. from a buddy I KNOW not from some random garage

..and they better be waaay cheap
