Default Tapping

Yet another update. I let the car run for about 20 minutes. The tappingseems tobe coming from the middle of the engine and not the valves.

Any ideas?

That'd be the lifters. Is your engine full of sludge?

FYI, you can do the updates within your original thread and it's a lot nicer if you do...that way anyone that reads it will know the history of what you're talking about.

I know of one person who stated that a crank case sensor on one of the coils packs could be bad. And of course, bad cam and/or lifters. Also, intake gasket could have gone bad, causing leaks.

If it is the cam/lifters, I plan on doing the work myself. I have worked on the pushrod engines. I have an idea. Would the modular engine be that difficult? Actually, I want to do the work myself.

What are you working on? I was assuming a 289 based on the 65 in your name.

Sorry my friend. The 65 is something I have used for years. I own a 97' GT, purchased new more than 10 years ago.

Felix is the name.
