Default RE: Short Shifter

I did the same thing before I bought my short throw shifter. Take out the rubber gromets and just bolt the shifter to the top of the tranny. I had a buddy of mine that owns a machine shop make me a spacer to replace the rubber gromet and just bolted it up. It will take all of the sloppy feel away, it will do til u can buy a real short throw....

Ok, so i just take the rubber part off and bolt it back to the same place with a spacer or nut and without the rubber? What size will the spacer or nut need to be? By the way, thanks for all the help.
