Default Battery light on

I was driving down the road tonight and my lights got dim, and the battery gauge goes down alot. I pulled over checked the cables and the fuses and they were fine. I don't know what this could be any help or ideas would be great!!!!!

Alternator. Check youre battery voltage while the car is running. Should be around 14-15. If its under replace it. Also check the condition of youre battery. If you have anything wet on it, then the positive will charge the negative and it will in turn uncharge itself and you'll be stuck. lol. So yeah, im going with alternator.

It was the altenator, I checked the voltage it was running like around 12v so I replaced it. The car is fine now. Thanks for the help!!!
