Default rattling under car....

hello all, i know i'm a noob to the site but i did a search and looked for this topic found some ideas just wondering if there is any other ideas out there. i have a slight rattle under my car when accelerating at relatively low rpm's. it's very slight but an odd noise is an odd noise. i hear it more on the passenger side of the engine, can't hear it at all from the driver side. it happens when i rev to about 2300 rpms in park and in neutral,as well as in drive, so i'm not to sure what i'm looking at. i don't want to freak myself out and start thinking it's the beggining of some piston slap, so i'm leaning toward one of the cats went out or is starting to. it just started today, haven't ever heard it before, so i'm hoping it's a minor prob. i'll have it checked on monday hopefully, just wanted some added opinions.

Thanks in advance. I'm sure i'll gain a lot of useful knowlege from this group.

you need to get underneath the car and look around at all the various lines and brackets to see if something is loose and hitting the chassis or driveline when the engine is running. could be as simple as the parking brake cable vibrating in it's hangers or a loose clamp on some other line under there. put a wrench on all the fasterners under there to make sure nothing is loose is the first thing I would recommend you try.

i will get under the car later this week when time is available. i thought it was minor but i just got rid of a DSM[:'(] and anything that sounded minor turned out to be something major so i freak at the hint of a sound, so i just needed some reassurance. thanks for the replies.
