Default Maybe a tech can answer this......

2005 GT with 1,200 miles. Auto Tranny. Accelerating up to 35 mph or decelerating from 35 mph down....the car sounds like a jet engine turbine spinning up and down. Worse decelerating than accelerating. No noise over 35 mph or so, or when stopped. Tried shifting to neutral while it was doing it rounding a corner at about 25mph and noise was still there. Maybe related, sharp left turns like you would make when you are winding through a parking lot result in a grinding sound from left rear. Not so on similar right turns.

Ok, so this is not my first car, not my first Ford...this can't be normal...can it, never heard anything like it before?.....needs checking?....has happened on other 05 autos you've seen/heard about?

thanks

I am not a tech. but I personality take it back to the dealer and take a mech. for a ride so you are sure that he hears exicatly what you hear. Whatever it is, it has to be bad [:'(]

Took it in and had it checked out. They had the head tech at the dealer ride around with me. He "never heard anyhting like it in 15 years" he said. We were riding around with him poking out of the window with his head down around the bottom of passenger door!...anyway, they decided to put it on the rack and see if it did it, they disconnected the radio and amp...still did it, they checked OASIS (whatever that is), called a hot line etc...someone decided to try driving another 05 GT Auto...same exact sound...so
it is classified as "NORMAL CAR BEHAVIOR" on an 05 Auto. From postings on 05 Mustang forum it seems others have it and thought nonthing of it. So I guess it is "NORMAL CAR BEHAVIOR"

I remeber the sticker said the tranny was sourced from France. So maybe its a French thing!

It's BS, they just can't figure out whats wrong and they don't want to look into it. Make them document everything and give it to you, so when whatever it is gets louder and worse, you can say I told ya so.

I don't even know where to begin. Like Vfast said, I would think it has to do with your converter. Could be your driveshaft is out of balance or something incredibly stupid like that.

Can you get it to duplicate any noise idling and revving it in neutral or anything?

I figured it might be BS so I'm hanging on to the docs and pondering my options. It does it in neutral too but only below 35 mph
