hey im 16, got my first car this summer at an auction- an 89 mustang lx 4 cylinder with an automatic trans. Got the car really cheap (about 300$) and since then ive had the transmission rebuilt, recharged the AC,got a nice paint job and replaced spark plugs, spark plug wires, rotor and distributer cap. the car runs fine, i take it about 60 miles a day to and from school.. i was wondering what inexpensive and relatively easy things i could do to the car to get the most out of it like speeding it up or increasing MPG or even both at the same time. for christmas im asking for one of those computer chips that are supposed to increase the HP by about 22 and increase gas mileage. im looking for any advice you may have concerning the chip or some other thing i can do to this car. if there was any confusion, this is a 1989 mustang LX hatchback with a 2.3L four cylinder fuel injected engine and i have made no significant modifications to the engine or anything else.
