Default 1988 blinker problem

im working on my friends 1988 and cant figure out why the blinkers will not work! The flashers work, but not the blinkers... i changed all the fuses and have checked the wiring and cant seem to find any shorts or anything!

Sounds like you did not check
the directions flasher. You checked
the hazards flasher.

im pretty sure i checked every fuse in the car.. i know how to read a wiring diagram...

well just so you know, the flasher is NOT a fuse. Im not sure about the mustang, but on my old car it was located on the driver's side interior fuse box

Does anything else not work? I am having the same problem? mine is an 88 as well and my top wasnt working and the blower motor wasnt working either i was told it was igniton switch but havent checked the car is away for winter

i know the flasher isnt a fuse. the relay for it is located in the steering column which i have replaced also. everything else works fine...

The mustang flasher CAN NOT BE SEEN.
It is inside the steering column. It can
only be felt by reaching under the column
and feeling for it.
Once you remove it from the clip
you can replace it, but getting it back
on the clip is impossible.

i replaced the entire steering column about a month ago and changed it with a new one when i did so..
