hey im looking into getting some bigger gears for my stang i was thinking probably 373 or 410 what i would like to know is what are the specs i need to know like the spline count on the pinion shaft and how many bolts the ring gear has its a 90 lx automaticalso what inch is my rearendlike a 8.8 inch or9 inch thanks.

 

Isnt a 90 lx a 5.0? Maybe you should try there...

all u need to know is 8.8 ford

since it's an aod, you really need the 4.10's

you can look in your doortag under "ax" m=2.73, z=3.08 , e=3.27 for what you have now

basically for every gearset you go up...you will raise your rpms in any given speed by roughly 250, so a bump from3.08 to 4.10 will have you taching 1000 more than you were b4

to give you an idea... i have 4.10's in my 5-speed (aod and t5 have the same od ratio ..only off by .010:1) i still get 21 mpg, i tach 3000 doing about 85

that should get you started....
