Default explorer pistons

does anyone knowif a96 explorer pistons are castareforged, got a short block with one bad piston it doesn't need boring, would it be worth it to get the one piston or new set and what re ring kit will work with this block

I'd have the block bored,honed,line bored,and use a new set of pistons.
Thisain't the place to start saving money!

I'm not sure but I know Ford stopped using forged pistons in the Mustang 5.0s after '92 so I doubt the Explorers have forged internals.

Iam going to have the block honed,I still have the pistons from the 85 block i'm sure that they are forged. Will the 85 pistons be the right size for the 96 explorer block the machine shop said i just needed the block honed out on the 96 explorer's block. The 85 pistons are standerd size the 96 block is standerd size question is are they the same. I was think hone it with rering kit.
