does he have the liquid cash to spend on the saleen though?
it might be more realistic on your pocket book to just buy the cobra and have a relatively higher car payment then try to scrimp and save enough to do it on the saleen, or take out an other loan all together in that case you may have a way higher payment once you total the car + loan

If you're into the power thing then go for the Cobra, no comparison. My buddy dynoed his stock '03 Cobra against a stock s/c Saleen and the Saleen put down so little HP it was embarrasing.
