Ok well I decided to go looking around the car and checking things to see what was up.

I couldn't start the car, sure sign something wasn't holding a charge. Checked the battery and it was fine....so I jump started the car. It turned on fine, battery light still on, only about 10 volts at idle.

So I dropped my rear seats and looked at my capacitor that usually reads 12-14 volts when the car is on and/or engine is going. Upon looking at it, it shows only 9 volts. So the stereo finally turned on. I tried to roll down the windows and the stereo turns off. I rolled ONE window up and it was going verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry slowly and then my instrumental cluster (where the guages are) turned off. So I did the other window and stereo shut off. I turned on my headlights and my stereo and cluster turned off. So accessories are taking a crap as no charge is being held. I tried to listen to the alternator and I actually got pretty close at idle and heard a weird sound, similar to a whine coming from it, which should be a dead give away that it's taking a crap no?

CLIFFNOTES: Had to jump start car, capacitor on stereo only reads 9 volts at idle. Rolling windows down, stereo turns off, headlights on, cluster turns off. For sure alternator?

definitely alternator gone bad. Because of l the equipment in the car I would look into an upgrade.

It's not the capacity of the alternator that's killing you it's the battery getting drained between starts.Trying to charge a low battery day after daywill eat up an alternator in short order.
You need to charge the battery while the car sits and here is just the charger for you.

I just bought two of these as Christmas presents and have one myself.
I've brought back two batteries from the dead so farand I can recommend this product.< $50

But it is the alternator that is causing the battery to drain. If the alternator is not charging the battery after the car is started, the power all comes directly from the battery and thus drains it. So the battery is draining BECAUSE OF the alternator not holding the charge after car it turned on. I am actually going to purchase that JUST INCASE it does help as I have wanted a battery charger just incase...thanks for that link!

So he ran it...results:

"Does not meet specifications. Alternator needs to be replaced"

Connect to the battery and plug it in. I would use the lighter plug for easy of use.

Well don't you think if it were that easy I wouldn't be asking how to do it?

It has ring connections, clamp connections and says to use a 24" at least 6 gauge wire on neg of battery before connecting anything to it, etc wtf
