PLEASE HELP !!!!!!! CAR NOT STARTING
My car will not start - it turns over but it wont fire up. I have tried all the typical problems it could be. I have checked the fuel pressure, checked all the fuses, checked to see if I have power to the coil packs, checked alternator (which is fine), cleaned the terminals for the battery, and still just turns and turns. Irecently changed my fuel filter , too. PLease help me - I did hours of resarch on here about other people having trouble starting their cars and still no luck. If ANYONE has ANY suggestions , I would gladly appreciate it.

grey goose:
If the THEFT light is blinking rapidly, then it is likely that PATS and the PCM have lost the communication link. Before you think the worst (a tow to the dealership and a reflash is in order), try your spare key. If the key is dropped once too often,it can lose its 'smarts' (the signature that the PATS system is looking for) and it won't start the car. TheTHEFT light will blink fast in this case, too. The PATS system has a receiver module and a transponder "strap" that runs along the steering column. One of those might have gone goofy. There is a long troubleshooting procedure in the shop manual (and you have to have a few special tools). That requires a tow/trip to the dealer, too.
Last thing I can think of is the PATS fuse (don't recall which one it is); check your Owners Manual for the fuse diagrams (under the dash and the one in the engine bay).

Chris

RE: PLEASE HELP !!!!!!! CAR NOT STARTING
if your vehicle theft system was activated somehow... you may just be able to jack the front of the car up and start it... the vehicle will think its being towed, and disable the anti theft system.

RE: PLEASE HELP !!!!!!! CAR NOT STARTING
Hey Goose, Try and Listen for the Fuel pump to engage the 1st 3sec. after your key is turned to the on position. On All the ford EECsystems the fuel pump has to prime! if it does'nt, it goes into safety and disable's the ignition activation thru the PCM. if the pump doesntactivate there's your Problem

DONT FORGET THE CRANK SENSOR
i have seen it many times where either the crank sensor goes out or it just has a bad connection.. without a signal from the crank sensor there is no power to the coils so no spark... if you check for spark and there is none it could be that... it is located on the pass side just behind the harmonic balancer
try just unplugging it and pluggin it back in it may just be that and could save you a lot of money... if not then good luck on finding what it is
and by the way it is not the neutral safety switch (clutch switch) that would disable the starter
