Hey everyone im looking for a tilt switch for my shifter. (manual trans) I have an 88 gt hatch.

The switch needs to be closed when the shifter is vertical and in neutral, and open when in any of the gears. It must be small enough to fit under the boot and not get in the way

Can anyone help?

Im cant seem to find any.
Where do i look.

wtf are you talking about? ive never heard of this.

 

i think its called a mercury switch. Look it up, hard to explain

they usually dont sell mercury switches anymore as mercury is hazardous. what do you need it for anyway?

 

making a neutral safety switch so the car wont start in gear,

A mercury switch would p!ss you off if you park on a hill [&:]

What's wrong with the ignition/clutch lockout? You can't start the car unless the clutch is depressed..

 

ya i had to bypass that switch. It for a remote start. I know its dangerious. That is why i want this switch.
