Default carb info

i am looking for some help,suggestions etcmy dad and ihave a 1964 1/2 k coupe the car was restored back in 1986 and the motor was bored.30 over it has a manley cam built to the 65 gt350r specs it has the original intake and 435 carb it has original cast iron hipo exhaust manifolds also ported and polished to matchthe intake the motor is B&B it has the stock ignition and exhaust with transverse muffler car has a 4 speed with 4:11 posi rear the car is sluggish with this carb the vacuum secondaries tend to stick or stay open so im thinking going with mechanical weretorn between going all out and replacing the intake and exhaust manifolds and exhaust like the gt350 had or just add a slightly bigger carb so any help would be great

Why not just rebuild the carb? 64.5 K-code cars are rare so why mess with it? Or try http://www.ponycarburetors.com/

Yea if that's the original carb then replace it with a more modern one, but keep the original handy in case you decide to sell or show the car & want it to be all original.

How is the ignition system on the car?
