I just bought a 91 LX. It has a 3-speed with over drive, and I can't stand it after only a week. So, I am going manual. I want to do more street racing than drag. Thanx

 

why would you want a 6 speed? got lost of $$ to play with? id stick to a built aod

 

street racing is bad, mmmmmmkay?

Just get a junkyard 5 speed - spend enough time at the street races and the chances are that you'll either get your car impounded or you'll crash, so don't spend a lot on it.

 

i like 5-speeds, but since you already have an automatic, i would build that up instead. my .02

i have a 92gt auto and i hate it, it going to 5 spd, then sometime 6spd, and street racing is dumb, do solo or auto x

 

Do a junkyard T5 swap. I switch between mine & I'm not sure which one I like more. If I have the 5spd in for a while I miss the c4 if I have the c4 in for a while I miss the 5spd. A built C4 can be pretty fun.

 

i did a t-5 swap and i've never looked back the car is a beast now. i went the junkyard route and saved lots. a 6-speed is cool but why do you need that if your street racing?

 

We do have a pretty good powerband, so I don't see much use in a 6spd.
