Default service engine soon light

after i replaced teh clutch, service engine soon sign came up, so i took the car to autozone and it says 'oxygen sensor defective' 'poor connection at oxygen sensor' 'check circuit-fuse'.
i took the car to a mechanic, and he said i could buy a 'part' (i dont know what part he meant') at autozone for like 50bucks, but it wont work so the 'service engine light ' wont come off. he says i should take my car to th ford dealershop and it's going to cost arount 2grand. well if the price is under 100 i can handle it but it's just too much. he said everything's fine but the 'oxygen sensor thing' . well i just want to get rid of the 'service engine soon' light.
i have 2001 mustang gt 4.6 v8 and installed magnaflow magnapack exhaust, and going to install bbk intake soon.
new user here so i dont know how it works but hope you guys help me out.

The autozone shold beable to clear it with there scanner. I have a rnaer 03 htat had some bad o2 sensors and they were able to clear the codes after i change the sensors.

you can also clear the computer by unplugging the battery for a certain interval

i have heard 10 minutes works....i just go 1/2 hour to be safe

if it comes back on, then you'll need to fix the problem

but my guess is the o2 sensor harness is bad, thats probably what needed replacing. there are different lengths of wire, so best bet is take it off in the parking lot or at home and bring it in to match it up

look at it first though, might not be plugged in all the way, or may be damaged from melting etc.
