im trying to put the mega bites in now but the rear control arm bolts wont bunge and im using a pneumatic impact gun. im going to pep-boys now to get some penetrating oil and well see how that goes. any tips.....dbeck maybe. ive know youve been down this road lately.

Get some PB blaster, that stuff is awsome. It eats rust and anything else that may have the bolts locked in.

 

Look at the bolt closely, I fell for the same thing. The nut is welded on facing you, you gotta take it out from the other side.

 

thanks for all the help guys. i got the right side in but nothing is torqued down. its about 10pm so im calling it a night. i have work tomorrow morning but after that its back to the car.
question though....
when i installed my upper arms a few months ago, the instructions said to torque all the bolts down with the the suspension compressed (i.e. the cars weight is on the coils not on jacks under the body) to prevent pre-loading the bolts but the mega bite's say to torque the bolts down with the suspension drooping. should i follow the directions or should i compress the coils and then torque it up?
also, should i put my sway bar back in? i know dbeck isnt using his.

i laughed when the instrucions said to reinstall the quad shocks

 

Just follow what the instructions say. We just did upper/lower arms yesterday, I just used a breaker bar to break the nuts and bolts loose. It worked well. Like I said, follow the instructions...

 

yeah, gotta use the breaker bar and when they break loose try not to bash you hand against anything.
