HELP PLEASE! Problems still after replacing fuel pump
Okay the original reason I decided to replace the fuel pump was b/c my car just started randomly dying on me one day and the pump was making a loud whine sound. The car would run but anytime I would give it gas it would bog down. I just got finished replacing the stock pump with a SVT Focus pump I bought from a forum member and the fuel filter. When I first started it up it ran good and I thought the job was done but seconds later the pump started to whine and the engine tried to die again. Black liquid which I assume is unburned fuel and black smoke is now coming out the end of the exhaust which wasn't happening to my knowledge before I replaced the pump. Any idea as to what I should do now would help. I really have no idea where to go from here.
BTW not sure if it could have anything to do with it but it's funny this all started happening just after I got my exhaust done. I had the y pipe cut after the cats and true duals run out the back. I dunno if there is anything they could have messed up under there. I checked the O2 sensors to make sure they didn't disconnect any of them but they all seem ok.

Yeah but I'm just afraid to drive it down to the zone. I don't think I'll make it. For the longest time the lights been on anyways so Idon't know if there's a new code or not. The old one was a leak in the evap system I think and the fuel cap light was always on.

No I don't have a gauge. It makes a really loud whine for a second when you first turn the key. Louder than I would think is normal but I don't know if that's normal for an SVT pump. I'm guessing that is it priming. The cylinders are flooded out with fuel so it I don't think it would be the pump that's the problem. Maybe the fuel pressure regulator? I don't know.. What I don't understand is if the pump is getting fuel to the engine then why have two different pumps whined like crazy?

I'm pretty sure your stang doesn't have a regulator since its not a return style fuel system. You definitely need to get the codes checked. It doesn't crank over or it doesn't start? Have you changed anything else on your engine? What exactly does your car have done to it besides exhaust? And foremost, get the codes checked.

It cranks over now but won't start. I pulled the plugs and they were soaked in fuel. I cleaned them up and trued to start it again but no luck.
