hi, i own a 96' mystic cobra and the problem im having is when i stomp on the gas the car falls on its face usually around 4500 or 5000 rpm. (most noticeable in 3rd or 4th gear) the car is still running and as long as i stay floored the car feels like track controll has kicked in but this car does not have it. i have to let up on gas pedal for car to come back to life. a few times i would be rolling in 1st gear and, hit it and it was like i turned off the key, then i let off the gas, hit it again and car would launch. some mechanic mentioned computer after swaping out mass air meter. mods are just cold air filter kit, xpipe, flows, gears, pullies. any help would be great.

it kinda sounds like a fuel problem to me but im no expert. but start small, replace your fuel filter youd be suprised what kinda problems that little thing can cause if cloged. i had a friend in highschool whos truck would do the same thing except he wasnt getting on it he would just be driving and it would bogg down all of a sudden. it turned out someone had put tampons in is gastank and when they got sucked up to the fuell pump it would bogg down and cut off. then when he restarted it it would be fine cause once it cut off the suction let go of the tampon. so i you could have small debri in your tank too. im sure other people will chime in with better advise than this but hey i tried
