Need Air Tools, Who Do You Recommend???
Hi all, I need to buy a set of air tools to use with my 4 gallon pancake air compressor. Have you run across any good deals on a set? Wal-Mart has a complete set for $60 but I am very wary about purchasing tools from the Box Mart.
Please let me know if you know of some deals! I am looking to spend less than $100.

Forget it.
There's no air tools that will be useful using that small of a compressor. You might get a few hits with an impact wrench but that's going to be it.A speed ratchet might work also.Grinders and sanders are out of the question.
I have a 30 gallon Craftsman compressor and it has a hard time keeping up with anything bigger than a spray gun.

Return the 4 gallon and get a 30 or 60 gal. Chopper is prety much right. But you may beable to use a air sander....Also, for any decent tools you are gonna be spending more than 100....unless its per tool. I got a 3/8 air gun once from a cheap china tool fall off the train tool place and it was prety much garbage. think i paid $35 for it.....maybe a litle more. get a 30 or 60 and than go to home depot or lowes and get some IR air tools from there. I would get a 1/2 impact gun to start with....think those guns usualy go for 150 if i'm not mistaken....been a long time since i got mine....had it for 14 years and its still kickin great.

AS far as brands are concerned, Ingersol Rand are the best IMO. High quality, and reasonably priced.
As for your compressor, other than using a nail gun its pretty much useless. Bare minimum you want a 20 gallon that can hold 150psi line pressure. That should be almost enough to do almost anything except for sanding for long periods of time.
Obviously the larger the tank the more demanding air tools you can use. Like die-grinders, sanders, drills, etc.etc.
Also, when buying a compressor, unless youre wired for 220 make sure its 110.
-P.

Are you saying an impact wrench wouldn't work AT ALL at 125 psi w/ my compressor? That sucks... I just bought the damn thing.
