Newb questions for u guys
Well sup folks. Despite my complete lack of knowledge of cars,
i managed to figure out what superchargers are
After seeing some videos and posts I was seduced by kenne bell.
My question is, i was lookin at KB site and saw these different chargers
and there were 2 for 01' GT. I was wondering which one is better suitable for me?
And what does these 9 PSI, 20 PSI mean? Lastly, if I get one of these do I need
anything else to go with it? like programs or sth?

psi is how much boost you have, to run 20 psi you would need a hella built bottom end so it doesnt blow your motor, everythign forged giving you a lower compression. btw should post this in the boost section.

Yeap. You will need the 1.7 From KB. Anything over 9 psi on stock rods and pistons is really pressing your luck. Some people say its all in the tune but the plain and simple fact is that Power Cracked rods wont stand up to extreme pressure before breaking and blowing out the side of your block.

Kenne bell makes 2 blowers for GT's the 1.7 and the 2.2 (blowzilla). If you don't wanna make your engine internals stronger then go with the 1.7 and don't run over 9 PSI. That should get you to around 430 HP. A 20 PSI 2.2 blower will get you over 600 HP. But your engine will not be able to support it without alot of mods. And you will probally need a tune when your done with it. Good luck.

i am kinda in the starter's boat, only difference being i understand a lot about boosting and forging from my time with my honda. i was just wondering why it would cost around 10 grand, since you can pick up the forged parts, i.e. pistons, crankshafts, and rods for under two thousand, if i didnt want to make it a summer project and paid a shop to do it, the cost of labor, but what else (engine-wise only, not about new suspension) would bring that total to 10Gs? thanks, sorry for dumb questions
