alright. im new to the mustang scene. ive always wanted one and used to know quite a bit about them but i ended up getting a jeep wrangler. (i loved that thing) well, i finally got my first mustang. a 99 5spd with a 3.8. im currently stationed at camp lejeune nc with the united states marines. im going to be getting deployed in sept. i should be coming home with around 10 grand unless i blow it all in libo ports. when i come home i was planning on dumping most, if not all, of that money into my car. im planning to put in a v8 cobra engine out of a 98 (i think). what are the pros and cons to this? i was also thinking about putting a sc on it. im not sure how big the aftermarket for the 3.8 is. would it be better for me to put in the v8 or mod the v6. ive been told i will need a new tranny too. not sure which one i have. if it was a jeep i could tell you but like i said, i stopped with mustangs for several years when i had my jeep. any help on this is needed and appreciated. thanx

coming home w/10g just trade the six in for a gt or a cobra (03/04) as for the swap i think a tranny i would look into a tremec t56

 

yea, the t56 is nice. cant afford the payment or insurance on a 03/04. they dont pay the military near enough for what we do. i know there is other service members on here somewhere and they prob agree. anything i will need to be sure to get?
