I have a 2002 mustang gt. I was planning on putting a heat extractor hood from the 2003 cobra on as well as dropping a 5.4 motor from the gt500 in. Also I was planning on lowering the suspension about 1-2 inches. Does anyone know if lowering the car and putting a heat extractor hood on would leave enough room for the 5.4 motor?

 

Lowering the car won't make any difference in engine bay room. And, not sure if a cobra hood will give sufficient clearance.. personally I'd stick a cowl induction hood on if I needed clearance.

Where did you manage to get a GT500 engine from?????

 

where did u manage the money for that kinda motor dont they run for like 15k?

yea the suspension dont matter as long as u dont take all the s*it out and start scrapping but if the cobra hood dont fit u can always cut it so you can show wat u got off a lil bit or put a cowl on

 

You can get them from ford. They are production for gt500. They are about 15k though that's why i don't know how soon i'll be able to get it because I definitley don't have that kinda money now. Thanks for the input.

 

Does anyone know if I would be able to use motor mounts to lower the engine to the point that i could use the cobra hood without hitting the ground?
