in most cases if it is a mustang i will like it but man i love the new body style stopped by the local dealership and checked out the new 427r they had man that was sweet

Anyways, back on topic, I'd say the best year(s) are handsdown 2003 and 2004. Becuase their line-up was the same. There was the base GT, a step up to the Mach 1, and then the SVT Cobra. A very well-rounded, reasonably priced arsenal of cars. Now if Ford will just do it again.....

The 03/04 Cobras are one of my favorites but I love the pushrod motor more. One of the down sides I think to the Cobras is the axles on the rear IRS. I love the feel of IRS but I hate the strength of the axles. But the sound of a Kenne Bell SC on top of the Terminator is more than enough to sway me to get one if I had the money.

I like my 83 hatch the best. One of the lightest hatches from the factory, 94+ interior is going to be installed, I am gonna do some custom work on the body to make it have it's own Eleanor look and adding 69 style side scoops and body lines thru the doors. But this is for factory performance so that opinion doesn't count.

 

Performancewise? Look no further than the blown Cobras.

As for my preference...'69, thank you. Or really, any '65-'73.

 

03-04 cobra, or new gt500 for performance,
but late 60's for looks, or the new ones.
