The '73 Mach's came with a 3 speed auto or a 4 speed stick, right?
wow do you have one/planning to get one?a blue 1973 mach 1 4 speed was my first car. the paint job in the beginning was faded pretty bad. the car was over 15 years old though so what do you expect? after almost 3 years i had it painted. i had that car for 6 years, and for a 15/21 year old car it was something else. it was really powerful for being almost stock. didn't have too many problems with it, and i kicked myself in the ***** for selling it. i talked to the guy over 2 years later that i sold it to. he said he didn't even get 6 months out of it when he slammed it into the side of a building bad. what a bummer.at first iwanted a chevette, but rather than a tiny car with not much get up i went for the bigger car with A LOT more get up.
I have a '73 Mach 1 3 speed auto. Red with black racing stripes. Original 351C, completely rebuilt. Lots to talk about.

i miss that car . next week will be 14 years since i sold it. next month will be 20 years since when i bought it. i don't think i've ever seen another 73 since then.i have a few embarrassing stories about it. i was a senior in high school, and the brake warning light was on for a couple of months probably. i neglected it, and my calipers locked, and started a fire right in the school parking lot. had some dudes pull me back to my driveway with their truck, and recommended i buy a haynes manual, and fix it myself. i did that, andin 20 years never been to a mechanic. blew a head gasket once, almost overheated it from a faulty thermostat. other than that i always made it home before i could fix a problem. when i was like 18 i didn't have a lot of money, and plus i hadn't even been driving for two years so i made a cold air intake out of pvc tubing. haha it only lasted a few months before it cracked.
