I have a 98 gt with the pi heads complete, full exhaust, k&n, u/d pullies,o2 eliminater, no cats, stock bottom end, with cobra oil pump. Also have the pi intake, im tryin to make at least 390hp, how close do you think i am, and what else should i do to the motor to get there, other than F/I.

 

You are no where near 390hp. I would love to see you get 390 hp out of the 4.6L 2v.

That is going to be a tough build. I don't even know if it is possible to get 390 crank horsepower out of the 2v. lol Just kidding. It is possible to get that kind of power but you are going to have to put some serious money into that car.

I would say that the easiest way for you to get there would be to do the 4v head swap or to get some Nitrous. lol

Why not go F/I? It will be so much cheaper than trying to get 390hp out of a 2v.

 

i think i see where your going with this. you want to be able to beat a stock termi right?

like he said, you arent going to get 390hp if you are talking about WHEEL horsepower.

390hp at the crank is do-able with a fully built motor (i'm talking cams, heads, everything).

but seriously, with the money and time your going to invest in all of that you could get a blower or nitrous and be well beyond that in a day.

 

You've got a long way to go, right now you are probably around 300-315 with basicly full bolt ons. You might get there with a set of Patriot heads, some cams, stoker kit, and underdrive pulleys you might be around 390 but those guys are right you should just getblower or nitrous and gears and you'll have much more power for less work.

 

I have a 96 GT wit a **** load of bolt ons and i am dynoing at 342 RWHP 354 FPT and thats it. The 2v motor just wasent great for power altho they do run for ever you cant hardly blow them up if the oil is changed like it should be.One word for you if your ready to make some real numbers Procharger

 

With that setup i'd guess maybe 280-290hp at the crank.

 

yea probly round 310 ballpark, just takes time and money
