Default convertable top

Is it just me or are convertable tops just a little hard to close? mine, if it has been open for a while is very difficult to close sometimes and results in pressing the damn top button back and forth until I think I can use all my weight to press down on the top and hope it lactches...
Anyone else have a vert that does this?

I have noticed that my 93 LX convertible is sometimes hard to latch on the passengers side. I have to hold down the switch and lock the top sometimes. Once the passengers side is secured, the drivers side is easy.

mine was very hard to close. the passenger side did not want to go all the way down as needed. i think that it was because of how the car had been driven by previous owner. it had been hotrodded alot. i think that the body was somewhat "warped". once i installed the subframe braces its not as hard to close the top. hard to explain but when we were putting the braces on the passenger side they didnt want to fit because the way the car was. it took some jacks and alot of cussing but we got it straitened out enough to get the braces on. that helped alot with the top closeing and also corrected the car sitting lower on the left side. now once i bring the top down i just have to walk over to passenger side and "guide" that corner a little, but no forcing is needed anymore.

Mine's not too bad. It is easier when it's hot out than when it's cold. If I do it in the heat of the day, it goes really smooth, but if I leave it until night and it's cooled off, I have to pull a little bit, or either hold the button and get it up tight. My innner liner in the part where the hook fastens on the passenger side had messed up when I bought the car, but I was able to straighten it out. I do know that 5.0 Resto has those parts. Only problem I've got with mine is that one of the straps on the rear window tore slightly loose. It's still half way on, but I need to find a way to sew it back.
