Becides the fact that i hate the thing i never use it and im to lazy to fix it. Does anyone have any good ideas of what to put there. I know they make switch panels but my car isnt a 7 sec drag car so i realy dont see the point for switches. Thanx in advance for any ideas!

 

On my red 89 GT my ash lid was not working.
Went to a junk yard saw a blue
89 or so mustang. I took out the bolts
on the old one and removed the console (easy).
Since I did not want to paint the console I broke off the
tab and spring that allows the lid to hinge and paid $1.

At home I took off my red console. Ysed a big hot
soldering iron and melted the blue tab into the
red housing. And now I have a new hinge and spring.

Works fine.

 

i was thinking it would be cool if there were a couple of gauges in there... but i am not sure how hard that would be to do... if you decide that, post pics

 

they sell switch panels to go in the ash tray area or you could just buy the ash tray fix kit from 50resto

 

I made a twin cup holder to cover mine. This is the only pic I have of it.

Thats a nice cupholder that Im thinking of putting in, they have it in different colors too. Seeing as how these dont have even one.
