Default Installing a turbo kit.

Hi all, i just have a question about installing a turbo kit. I recently got a 2002 GT, 5 spd, and am interested in installing a turbo kit on it. I've been lookin at the Hellion kit (wich is for 99-04 mustang gt's). I dont really have alot of mechanical expirience on vehicles, just done a few smaller easy things with them. My question is would i be able to put in a turbo kit myself (with help of a book of course) or is this something im going to need to take to a garage and have them put it on? Thx in advance for an answer any help is appriciated.

Default RE: Installing a turbo kit.

I guess no one knows about that right now. some simpler upgrades im thinking of doing are changing the underdrive pulleys (im lookin at steeda's) and changing the coils (looking at granatelli's). Apperently the coils will add atleast 15 more hp. Any idea what the coils will do for me in that aspect anyone? Im not a very good mechanic yet, but after reading tons of info online ive learned a little. I also plan on changing the exhaust (from what i understand too little exhaust chokes your engine out). So any thoughts on the SLP loudmouth catbacks for the gt? Once again im kinda going for easier upgrades i can mostly do myself at this point. Thx for any help or information you can provide

I'm fairly mechanically inclined, but not good enough to install a turbo. All the piping. I'd hate to pay that labor bill, can you find a local mechanic to work with you over a Saturday at your house? Too much money goes to the dealerships and not most mechanics. That I know at least. Changing the exhaust sounds good, but wouldn't you want to wait after the turbo for that? look up now the instructions on the hellion install, I'm sure you can find them online. That should answer how hard the install is.
