the engine light is on. I replaced the gas cap, light goes off for about 2 weeks and then its on again. any suggestions?

I had a leak in my 2001 v6 (in neck of my gas tank) and had the same lights go on and off.

 

There are some auto parts stores that will 'loan' you an OBDIIcode reader. There is no substitute for listening to the car's onboard computer -- it could be something simple, or it could be a sign of something more serious. Get the facts first, don't go chasing symptoms.

 

yeah just next time the light comes on go to autozone and they will read the code for you. write the code(s) down and we can tell you more what it means.
