has any one done this before
me and a buddy are building a drag mustang. we bought a 1984 mustang lx 4 banner manual. We know a guy who gave a us a race built 700r4 automatic (4speed over drive chevy trans) and a 1970 hemi cuda rear end with slicks and springs out of a totaled race cuda. Has any one ever built such an animal. we have a good metal shop to back us up. we where allso talking a swaping on a later fox body front end. whats involved in that?

Stick with the Ford parts and you will save alot of time fabricating and modifying to make the non Ford parts fit.
The overdrive trans is nice fora dual duty car but strictly drags, get a C4 if you want an auto.
The Hemi rear may bean 8 3/4 which is no stronger than a 8.8 Ford. Again, not worth the swap. You'll need make brackets for the control arms and it will be too wide.
If it's a Dana 60. It's just way too big and heavy. Save that rear for something with some muscle. Mustangs are light cars and don't need a very strong rear axle, even when they are fast.
