Default eec-iv swap

is there anyone that has swapped their 4.6 for a 5.0 pushrod? i want around 450 na horses and i can't spend the $15k to do it with a 4.6mod. are the only components i need as followed?- k-member, eec-iv, wiring harness, and of course a motor for swapping 4.6 to a 5.0pushrod in a 2001 GT.

Don't know everything you need for the swap, but I do know you can get 450hp without spending 15k. If you were to upgrade the fuel sysem and put a supercharger and aftercooler you could probably get pretty darn close to 450hp.

hence the NA after the hp number, i'm looking for natural air motor not huffed.

I'm not sure about the actual swap pieces, but also think about a transmission and related partssince the T45 and 3650 (not sure which one you have) won't bolt up to the 5.0. If you are auto I have no idea if the 4R70W will bolt up or not (5.0s used the AOD or AODE).

450hp is about the safe limit of the stock 5.0 block and you will have to look at either going with a stroker or nitrous to hit those kinds of numbers without F/I so you are still looking at a decent investment either way.

Don't know if this is an issue for you or not, but you may want to consider your state's emissions requirements for OBD-II. If your state plugs your car in for emissions testing (like mine does), they will expect OBD-II compliance for a 2001. IIRC, EEC-IV won't pass muster.
