Default Ford Lightning..

Alright.. so im kinda new to the ford lightnings.
I know they are 5.4 liters and supercharged stock from SVT.. but i have a few questions.

Whats the most horse the stock block can handle?
Are there a lot of mods out there for the lightnings?
Do they have alot of potential to keep up with built mustangs, camaros, etc.?
Are they worth it?

They are pretty damn fast for trucks, that's what I know. I've seen mid-low 13s fromsomewhat stock ones. SorryI can't be more specific though [8D]

i dont know what power they can handle but i have a friend that ran 11.49 and 11.47 on a stock bottom end lightning, shift kit, stall, full exhaust, and a whipple, theres another one floating around the a shelby engine 3.4l whipple that ran 9.992, and you can of course get turbo kits and stuff for them, they are more expensive to build but u can build them

I have owned one. I had a 01. I had flowmaster cartback and a k and N dropin and I run a 13.5 1/4 and a 8.5 1/8 on street tires. The bottom ends can hold about the same as a gt, about 450, 500 pushing it.

no they arent built. From what ive seen when you start putting upper and lower pulleys on the 3rd to 4th gear shifts is when the bottom end lets loose. Know of 2 guys who were racing or were in the throttle when the truck went from 3rd to 4th and the bitch went kaboom.
I raced a stock one at the trac and he ran a 14.1 I think. I also ran 1 with a 2.8 upper pulleys, cai, tune, and maybe even a 4lb lower pulleys and I was right on his *** in my bolt on GT
