i have an 88 5.0 hatch i put a new starter in and then after about 5 starts it makes a whining noise and eventually stops and the next time i go to start it, it won't anyone know why this could be?

can you be a little more clear..is it making noise after it starts...will it still start the car after 5 times

 

i put the new starter in i drove it for a little while. u know ran some errands. then i filled it up with gas and went to start it and it started. but it was making a wining niose like the starter was still spinning. after about 30 seconds it stopped then it won't start again.

this is the second starter that this has happened to. i replaced the solenoid and the battery today no luck.

 

so you turn the key, starter and engine spin over, engine fires, you let go of key but starter keeps going?

 

yes new starter then it dies and new solenoid or battery doesn't work
