Need knowledge from knowledgable people!
Hey guys I'm not having this problem in mymustang but in my truck. I think the cat. convertor is plugged or gone bad. How do you know for sure? What are the symptoms? Thanks for any help!

Yeah when one went bad on a truck of mine I couldn't go over 60mph. It also rattled really loud. You can get a universal cat for like 70 bucks or a high flow one if you want to upgrade.

Well you hit the nail on the head! Thats what mine is doing to a T. It only does it once in awhile though. I drive about 40 miles to work in the morning and about 3/4 of the way there after going between 70 and 80 mph it will all the sudden cut out and will still go but not over 60 and has a hard timing going up a hill. Once I reach the jobsite I park it for 8 hours and drive it all the way home with no problems. Is that the start of it going bad? If it is can I get a straight pipe with no cat and get a MIL eliminator and have it be fine?

Is this offroad enough?
Its a 99 Z71
6" suspension lift in the pic but it has a 3" body lift now and not in the same condition as the pic, its a little older now and the dents have added character. Best thing of all its my gas saving daily driver! I was told if you take it to the shop without a cat you can have it installed without a cat.
