Vibrations when breaking
Ok this just started and whenever im at higher speeds like 50+mph the car shakes and the steering wheel vibrates back and forth violently... is it the rotors... or what.. it is a 2000 V6
Start by having the rotors turned and checking the pad thickness.
This website has some good info. Here's a link to the "warped rotors" article.

Are you talking about the
vibration when you apply the
brakes?
If not, the rotors should be
away from the calipers and
no warpage would be noticeable.
Check tires, air, balance, wear.

Mine started doing the same thing. Does the vibration get worse when you brake? I jacked up my car and the passenger side wheel was really difficult to spin by hand. Turned out I had a frozen caliper. So I went to pep boys and got a new one ($58) fixed my problem. Luckily my rotor wasn't warped but my new brake pads were half worn already on that side [:@]. Oh and for some reason the passenger side caliper is $20 more than the drives side....figures just my luck.
