Default NEED HELP 68 Mustang 429 Engine?

first off i cant find any information on the possible purchase of a 429 engine, the price is 500 dollars, and the only thing it needs is a carb. first is it worth it? can anyone get me information or point me in the right direction on where to get information about the engine some numbers i found are as follows - D3VE-9425-A1B...............2E22.....a circle w/ 1,3,5,7,9.........D2CE-A2A (429).........do any of these numbers mean anything to anyone? much help would be appreciated.....

ALSO!!! the plans for this engine if all checks out and is good, are to put it into a 1968 coupe mustang...can it be done? any idea where to buy motor mounts, shorter drive shaft, to find out if the rear end will be able to support it.....will the shock towers support the engine?....any help would again be appreciated....

thanks~BILL

RIDES: a 91 Firebird w/305 tbi (yea i know...mustang site...i <3 mustangs, but this was my first car ;x, ive sence seen the light)
2 68 mustangs, one w/o a front end (parts car), the other in decent condition waiting to be restored

i also have a 351w engine that is in the process of being rebuilt and will prolly sell if the above works out for me

They never put a 429 in a 68. Biggest was a FE series 428. 70 was the first year of a std 429. 69 was the first year of the BOSS 429.

oo.i c...mmm..something like that is hard to do on 7 an hour...but lets see...first of all get thing lined out on what you want the car to do...how fast? than get a plan on the install and stay with it..dont change your mind half way through it and go a dirrefent way..give me all the details of the car..motor -tranny combo...etc..and i will see what can be done..

that is a 1973 429CID . not mutch of a profermer the heads are a real hold back . 93cc chambers low compression and smog detuned . If the rest is in shape buy it on a budget the head cast you want is D0VE . 500 bux for a sound motor is a good price and BIG BLOCKS RULE

If the car is a ornigal V8 you dont have aney prolbems with the rear just yet . Engenry makes a good polly mount for the swap . and hooker has a headder for you

Sell the windsor and get a good aftermarket head intake and cam with the money . but get the motor in the car and running first
