Default 99 cobra cats

What will I need to do if I cut out the cats on a 99 cobra. The car really seems to wake up with-out them but of course I get the check engine light. Will the O2 elliminators really work? Or what would be the best course to take?

Yes the O2 eliminators work.

Just cut them off at the welds and weld in a piece of exhaust piping.

Will all four have to be replaced or just the fronts?

I am actually not sure about that. I'm pretty sure all 4 should be replaced. But you might wanna wait until someone else chimes in that knows for sure.

Did you ever get your light to go out after the eliminators didn't work?
