Default help please!!

Hey guys, so i have noticed that while i am driving that there is a funny little "grinding/rubbing" noise coming from my shifter ,also when im shifting it sometimes doesnt want to go into third...and last thing that happens, is when im sitting still, not going anywhere i still hear that noise coming from the shifter, but when i push the clutch in the noise goes away...any suggestions?? i was thinking maybe a clutch adjustment??

How old is the clutch? Sounds like maybe the throw-out bearing is shot

ehh its a fairly new clutch...thats the reason i was wondering if it was just an adjustment to the clutch...but i have taken it down to the tranny place around here and they said either its the throw out bearing or they would have to re-build the whole tranny...being a college student and all i def dont have enough money for a tranny re-build...but they said around $300 for the throw out bearing...would the throw out bearing cause rough shifting too??

No a bad throwout bearing shoudn't affect gear shifting, just make grinding sounds. Normally the throwout bearing gets replaced the same time a new clutch is installed,, the bearing itself is pretty cheap it's the labor to install it that's a PITA
