Default Radio Antenna

I have heard of people shaving the antenna from their cars. If so, what do they replace it with to get good reception?

I've seen a few articles online telling how to just cut it down on your own. Also, you could look into a shorty antenna too, whichever.

I don't know how that affects reception, all the sites I've seen say it doesn't mess with it, and I know some people on here have done that mod too and it seems to be ok for them.

last week i did mine, still works great, but i dont listen to my radio anyways.
i just took it off, then cut a section out of it, welded the top and bottom back together, then smoothed it out with the dremel and added some new paint. looks great. mine is around equal height with the roof.

I was hoping somebody would say we could rewire the system like a Honda. My Honda has the antenna in the wind shield.

I was wondering the where part as well. $30 is not bad either but I would relaly liketo get a shorter antennea. I don;t like the long ones.
