Default New Mustanger-looking for........

New at the Mustang game and would like to know if there are any really recommended late model Mustangs to buy and any to avoid. I want to buy a used one and know little about them. Want a v-8 with automatic.
Thanks.

I haven't heard anything bad about the newer GTs with autos. The 4.6 is a good motor and the 4R70W seems to be a pretty good tranny. I would say for you it is just up to how much you want to spend.
I have heard that the 99 Cobras (can't get one with an auto) are kind of crappy and that the 3.8 V6s blow head gaskets like crazy but those don't fit your wants

I purchased my '05 right off the assembly line and have not had any trouble. I also owned a '99 GT Vert with 65,000 miles and everything was original besides tires and brakes.

The only concern is driving with wide tires in the snow.

Get a Mach 1, they come in auto andmanualand you will love the power and styling. They are the 03-04's. The Bullitt's are pretty nice too.

I like the Mach 1's. My parents bought an 04 a few weeks ago and it feels pretty fast. My dad ran it at the dragstrip and with granny shifting it and a crap launch ran a 13.80 at 102 (at over 1000 ft elevation)

I've had a 2005 v6 auto for about a month now and it works fine, I can't imagine that the v8's would be much different, except for the power.
