how hard
That all depends on some things. If I am trying to be good and not make a lot of noise or attract to much attention I shift at about 2200-2500, if I am in the mood to hall a bit I may get up to 3000 or even 3500. I sort of learned to drive the stang on my own so I just go by the sound and feel of the car. But that is with a v6 too so I do not know if it variates any between v6 and v8.
Depends on what you want to do and what kind of rubber you're running. If I want to light up the tires at a light I'll launch at about three grand on stock rubber. If I'm at the track looking for a consistant ETs I'll launch at around 1500 while ridding the clutch until about sixty feet then let out the clutch and go like *ell. If you're running slicks and a decent rear axle ratio you can launch at two or three grand and dump the clutch. Experiment. No two cars launch exactly the same. Tire pressure plays a role also. Hope this info helps.
