Stock Seat Belts!
I do not have a Mustang, but the driver side seat buckle on my car just recently gave out for some reason. So what I did is I took out my back seat and stole the middle buckle. I now looked under my seat and found out that the buckle is connected to the supports of the seat itself, not the floor. I figured this is like this because if you want to move to seat up some or back, the buckle would need to be like this so that there wouldn't be a changing of tightness every time I move forward or back. I would make a guess with 5% doubt that this is the same for your car and almost all newer cars.
