Default lights turn on by themselves "Weird"

Hello, my wife recently purchased a 2007 mustang, its not a gt, in between the basic & gt if that makes sense, anyway. Just recently when my wife went out through the garage, standing on opposite side away from her car, when for no reason the car lights come on as if you had opened the drivers door, which was closed, and car keys were in the house. She thinks the car is haunted, HA!I thought she was losing it till a couple of times it happened around me.It doesnt happen very often, maybe once or twice a day,You think the rf from someone elses key remote could be triggering it?Any ideas guys ????

YOUR CAR IS HAUNTED! JK but, seeing as it's a 2007, and not top of the line, was there an aftermarket starter or remote entry system put in. If so, how is it powered? Is ir wired right? If you bought it second hand and not from a dealer, I would look into what has been done to the car (electrically speaking) I have seen a lot of hack jobs when it comes to wiring in a car starter, or a security system/ valet switch. I actually was on a dealer lot and locked the only set of keys w/remote inide a 99 F-350 while it was running because I hit the aftermarket valet switch and shut the door by mistake. Everyone thinks they are a professional if they can read installation instructions nowadays. Just a thought. It might not be your problem, but I haven't heard of too many other wierd electrical problems like that.

Try disconnecting the positive battery cable, pause a few minutes, then reconnect it. It will reset the computers. I had a similar issue with my truck.
