Default Power steering leak affecting brakes?

Hey all,
02 GT Here.
I noticed when I push the brake pedal down really hard it almost feels like it gives out. It doesnt affect braking but when Im stopped and push real hard it almost feels like it bottoms out but theres still a good amount of pressure on the pedal. So I did this a few times and then went for a drive and heard my power steering pump whining. I checked the fluid and its almost empty. It was full a week ago. WTF?

Refill the reservoir, start the engine, and look for leaks.
Begin by turning the steering wheel back and forth. If the fluid starts running out from under the car you should look at the steering mechanism for the problem.
If you don't get any fluid that way, press and hold the brakes several times. Now shut everything down and look for leaks again.
It would be a big help if everything is clean under the hood before you start.
I'm going to say it's probably a ruptured high pressure line and the leakshould show itself pretty quick.A helper would be an asset also.
