Sorry I didn't mean to call YOU a pirate specifically lol

Don't think things are much different in the Diablosport camp either. Make sure you get an unlocked tuner (either brand) and you'll be fine.

More importantly though, if you're getting your car dyno tuned at some local shop be sure to check which tuner they want you to use. Some only use one brand.

Hey no worries man. I totally know what you're saying about "those" folks that try to group buy tunes. I've seen those threads. My only point was that I was only trying to get mine cleared. I don't understand why SCT would have a probably with that. It hurts nobody.

As far as your advice about getting an unlocked one, duly noted. I have been checking around and as it turns out this must be diablosport country... I've called about a dozen shops that tune here in Denver and they ALL use DS. Guess I'll just have to sell this one locked fordirt cheap (or maybe even give it away), and then go buy a DS since thats what everyone uses here.

I'm done buying canned tunes though and want a cleared one I can have tunes loaded locally on.

STILL, if anyone comes up with a way I can reboot/flash/clear this thing.... PLEASE LET ME KNOW. PM me if you're not comfortable posting it, in fear of the tuner police!

Sct used to do that service of unlocking for many people. At quite a high price also. Why would they turn their back on their most popular model sold. If Imhad to buy a tuner today, I'd pick up the x2 over the x3 for sure. Good luck on getting it to work. I was almost in the same boat as you. I didn't have much cash and I saved up to buy a used jlt2, xcal2, and one single file brenspeed tune. i was very lucky and dealt with an honest mf member selling in our classifieds. Call up sc and talk to a manager, I'm sure he and some cash can help you out.
