Default wanting more pull

just got my 2004 gt first mustang ever. been wanting one for 20 years. alittle disapointed that the car does not realy pull hard like my buddies 2005 gto. what can i do to get more. i just ordered a bbk cold air intake and was wondering if i should put a off road xpipe in or gears in instead. and if gears witch ones 3.73 or 4.10s i'm under the impression that 4.10s would kil gas milledge and top end by a lot. i would like to get this pony up to 300 hp without major work. please help with any info.

I would get the 4:10's to really make it feel like it pulls harder. The off road x pipe and cai should help some. 4:10's won't really kill you gas milage just drop it a little and as far as top end thats where the mod motors make there power and with the lower gears it will rev faster to get into the powerband better.
You could probably get 300 flywheel hp with the cold air intake, full exhaust, intake manifold, pulleys and a tune.

if ur wanting pull definately get the gears, x pipe makes a slight difference but no where near what gears do.

gears are all preference. 410's and 373's as long as you keep your foot off the gas arent that far off in MPG. if your heavy on the foot the 410's will kill you because your hitting higher rpm's faster than the lower gears.

Is the car an automatic? If so get the 4.10's. If it's a 5-speed then go with the 3.73's

i think 3.90's are a nice medium.
i was torn between 4.10's and 3.73 and then i saw 3.90's.

getting to 300 hp wont be that hard
getting to 300 at the wheels will be though, that used to be my goal for my car

thanks to all. I think i'm going to do the 3.73 gears, off road x pipe, and a tune by steeda.there shop is just down the road from me. for about 1,000 bucks they will do all of this. I'm not tring to build a race car or anything like that.but i alwayesthoughtmustangs wouldpull hard because of the nice sound it produced. and would like to beat the new stock gt. and have some fun!!!!!!.
