Default gears

well I have narrowed my search for gears down to either 3.55 like the 2004 mach 1 or the 3.73. I have a 04 gt stock with a cai and 5sp manual. I want quicker 0-60 but maintain top end. I've been told that 4.10s you loose alot of top end and have hard time with traction. what about the 3.73s when it comes to top end or is 3.55 better my gears stock is 3.30. I went up against a 2005 gto and stayed with it fir the first two gears then I hit the brakes realy was not tring to race him just wanted to see what i had. he said he had his a/c on thats why I stayed with him. what do you guys think would be the best gears for me it is my daily driver not a race car just want alittle more

If your stock gear is 3.31 it's not worth going to 3.55, although i thought the 5 speeds came with 3.27s but whatever. Go with at least 3.73s if you're going to bother.

3.73, you won't be dissapointed. No issues a top end. 75 mph your doingabout 2900 rpm. Get into the power band quicker in midrange. I will tell you that if your going to stay na, you should contemplate 4.10's.When Iwas NA, it was fun midrange and topend. Down low was OK. Do you ever plan to sc ??? If you want to sc ever, I personally wouldn't go higher than 3.73. I roast the tires at will and 4.10 would of been over kill .
